Have a triple valve body. Why do the threaded inlets have a non-uniform and smaller entry in the casting valve (rectangle) inside each of the inlets?
The question is: Why do the inlets have a non-uniform and smaller entry in the casting valve (rectangle) inside each of the inlets?
The hot and cold inlets have the expected threaded fitting but when you look inside the circular inlet feed to a rectangular opening that feeds internally. The rectangle openings in the hot and cold are not the same size nor are they cleanly cut or uniform so it appears that the casting was not cleaned out properly. The hot is smaller than the cold rectangle. I would attach a picture but cannot in this forum. Does anyone know what the inlet should look like or if this sounds like a defect? I planned to install today (Saturday) but feel I should wait until I have an answer. I may be reached by my cell phone at 301-437-8426.
